Death, Death, and More Death!

Image
What is spiritual death? Does it have the same weight as physical death, or can you repent and return to God? Is all spiritual death equal? These questions drove me to study this topic, one my cousins and I have been theorizing on for a while. The Bible has a lot to say about spiritual death, and it is vital that we understand what spiritual death is - after all, the second death is spiritual. The permanent kind.  Rev 21:8 KJV But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. There’s no coming back from that one. What about spiritual death while we are still alive physically?  Ephesians 2:5 KJV  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Paul says that we were spiritually dead before we had the blood of Christ applied to our sins. Or does h...

The Third Law and Ambassadors

Image
Exodus 20:7 “ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain ” (NKJV). “ You do not bring the Name of יהוה your Elohim to naught, for יהוה does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught ” (Shemoth– Exodus 20:7, TS2009). This law is another one about respecting the name of the Creator. It is widely thought that this means you should not use the word “God” in cussing and swearing. In studying the first law and the name of the Creator, we can see that the English word “God” is an overused and somewhat undistinguished title. His actual name יהוה however is tremendously important and to use His name in blasphemy is a serious offence. “ And whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord [יהוה] shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him, the stranger as well as him who is born in the land. When he blasphemes the name of the Lord, he shall be put to death ” (Lev...

Ethanim: Out With the Old, in With the New

Image
Guest post by Richard Gray . This is the final installment in a series on the fall holy days .  Ethanim is the Biblical name for the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar (1 Kings 8:2). It is Strong’s #388 from #386. “ perennial, constant, especially used of water. A perennial stream constantly flowing” ( Gesenius). “But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty [386, ever-flowing ] stream” (Amos 5:24). Pure water is a symbol of God’s Holy Spirit. As water is essential for life, the Holy Spirit is essential for eternal life. The seventh month will be the first opportunity to receive salvation for those who never had that opportunity during the 6,000 years of man. On the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles (temporary dwellings) the final judgment will occur. On the 21 st of Ethanim, on the sixth day of the week. “…the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein sh...

The Brotherhood Of The Saints

Image
Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.¹ There is a brotherhood spoken of throughout the Bible. What is this brotherhood? Why is it necessary? There is a war on, my brothers and sisters, and it is a very real and literal war. Christians and people in general often fail to grasp the realness of this war, and when life beats them up, they ask, “Why did God let this happen to me?” The question is, is it life that is beating them up, or is it something else? John 10:10 NKJV "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly.  Christ plainly tells us here that there are thieves who will steal, kill, and destroy, yet Christians act like it's God's fault when the thief appears to kill, steal, steal, and destroy. They feel that He didn’t protect them enough. There is a war on. The time for resting in peace and harmony is in the future, in God’s kingdom. In t...

What Does It Mean to "Be Holy"?

Image
Today is the Day of Atonement, the holiest of holy days. It's a day on which God commanded us to humble ourselves and afflict our souls. Three times in Lev. 23:26-32, He commanded us not to do any manner of work on this day, saying, "And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people" (Lev. 23:30). It takes no more than a quick skim-reading of the Bible to discover that holiness is critical to God. God is holy, and He commands His people to be holy as well: "As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy'" (1 Pet. 1:15-16). What does it mean to be holy? How can we be holy? How can we keep holy the days which God commanded us to keep holy? In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word qadosh  (Strong's # H6918) means "sacred, holy, pure, clean." Most times you see "holy" in the Old Testament, it's this word or related wo...

The Guests Are Here, and They Look Hungry

Image
Guest post by Richard Gray . This is part of an ongoing series on the fall holy days . The Feast of Tabernacles corresponds to the sixth and final day of the physical creation. This festival pictures a joyful time of feasting on God’s word that will have been made possible by the work that was done during the millennium. All of the preparations for this, the largest banquet in the history of the universe will have been completed during the millennium. The banquet hall (the earth) has been refurbished. No more crime ridden, drug infested, filthy cities run by corrupt lying politicians. No more filthy entertainment, good-bye Hollywood. No more Murder Inc. (a.k.a. as Planned Parenthood). All of the filth and trash that the way of life that this world has to offer—gone forever! The 48 Levitical cities, established during the millennium, will be centers of teaching the truth. That means this world’s corrupt, lying education system will be gone. These cities will provide righteous judgme...
