Isn't It A Beautiful Day?!

Image
I sn’t it a beautiful day?! Someone is always ready to take exception with that phrase but think about it. We’re alive (at least, I assume you are since you are reading my post), and we were all able to wake up and read, and that is a blessing that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Not everyone can say the same.  I’m on a diet that is supposed to reset my metabolism, and one of the things I can have is nuts. Not as many as I want, but I can have eighteen.  Does anyone out there have a nut allergy to the point where if you didn’t receive medical intervention, you would die?  I’m sure that seems like an odd question, and in fact, this whole post, as I’m sure you will admit, has been pretty odd up to this point. There is an explanation, I assure you, and it has nothing to do with morning drinking.  Just being able to eat nuts without dying is something that all of us have probably taken for granted, yet it is something to be thankful to God for. We can enjoy delicious n...

Two YHWHs??

Image
Most Bible translations, as we see in the pages of the Old Testament, render God’s name YHWH as “LORD” in all caps. Sometimes, if the Hebrew text already uses adonai or “lord,” as in Adonai YHWH , then we may see it translated as “Lord GOD.” Today, I’d like to pose the question, who was YHWH, the LORD, in the Old Testament? When we see “LORD” or “GOD” in our Bibles, is it referring to God the Father or Jesus Christ? Just who was the God of the Old Testament? Many Scriptures demonstrate that both God the Father and Jesus Christ are YHWH. First, let’s look at a few for the Father. God the Father Is YHWH Keeping in mind that “LORD” is the same as “YHWH,” we read in Psa. 110:1, “The LORD said to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’” Whose words are reported here? God the Father, as Heb. 1:13 reveals: “But to which of the angels has He [the Father] ever said: ‘Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool’?” While on this earth, Je...

Is Yeshua / Jesus Truly GOD?

Image
I was recently challenged on whether Jesus Christ is truly God, and was told that there is no Scriptural proof of this. After all, the Bible tells us multiple times that there is one God, beginning in Deut. 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!" 1 Tim. 2:5 adds, "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." And 1 Cor. 8:6 tells us, "Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." Is this the end of the matter? Is Yeshua/Jesus truly God, or is only the Father truly God? Let's dig into this and see what God's Word reveals to be the whole picture. Let's turn over to John 1:1-3, where we read, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made...
