Jesus Christ Died at the Appointed Time

Image
About 2,000 years ago, God sent His Son to earth to die in our place to atone for our sins. As we’ll see shortly in God’s Word, God planned it before the foundation of the world, before time began. It’s the most momentous event in all of human history. Everything in the Bible points to it, in both Old and New Testaments. In fact, the Apostle Paul “determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2). Our salvation — our eternal life — God’s entire plan — hinges on Christ’s sacrifice. Without Christ’s death and resurrection, we are nothing. We are dead men walking, awaiting the doom of eternal death. But through His death and resurrection, we can live forever with Him! All four gospels carefully establish that Jesus died on Nisan 14th, the preparation day for the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the same day God’s people sacrificed the Passover lambs in the Old Testament (Ex. 12:6). Is this just a coincidence, or is it crucially important? 1 C...

Is Yeshua / Jesus Truly GOD?

Image
I was recently challenged on whether Jesus Christ is truly God, and was told that there is no Scriptural proof of this. After all, the Bible tells us multiple times that there is one God, beginning in Deut. 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!" 1 Tim. 2:5 adds, "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." And 1 Cor. 8:6 tells us, "Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." Is this the end of the matter? Is Yeshua/Jesus truly God, or is only the Father truly God? Let's dig into this and see what God's Word reveals to be the whole picture. Let's turn over to John 1:1-3, where we read, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made...

This Is The Way

The Lawlessness Of Modern Christianity Are modern Christians under God’s law or any law at all for that matter? How does Christianity function as a lawful society if there are no laws? If we are following laws, whose laws are we following? God’s or man’s? A section in the Bible heavy with discussion of the law is Romans chapters 6 - 11. It’s a large section of scripture to cover in a single article, so we’ll break it up over a couple. The thing we need to remember when we start looking at anything in the New Testament is that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.¹ and The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.² If Christ is the same forever and His word will stand forever, that leads us to look at something fundamental. Who Was the “God” of the Old Testament? When we start looking at the law and whether it is still applicable to us or not, we run into a prevalent dilemma and one that we must necessarily answer befo...

The Truth About the Holy Spirit

Image
Among mainstream Protestants, Catholics, and even Seventh Day Adventists, the Holy Trinity continues to be one of the most sacred beliefs. This idea holds, as the Seventh Day Adventist website states , that, "There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three coeternal Persons." Sometimes this doctrine is also expressed as "three in one, one in three." How this makes any sense, no one seems to be able to explain. In fact, GotQuestions.org observes , "The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it." Of course, there are many things we can't grasp about the spiritual realm. For example, I can't grasp the concept of God always existing, of Him never having any beginning or any end. I can't wrap my mind around that, even though I know it's true. Other things don't make sense simply because they aren't true. Since those who hold the trin...
