The Christian Church of Witchcraft Inc.

There is a new trend in the modern world that is not at all new. People call it “new age” religion, but there is nothing unique to this age about it. Spirituality is the hot new thing, which sounds great on the surface, but flowing underneath it is a current that is pure evil. On its surface, it all seems very innocent and harmless like this particular spirituality is the answer to all mankind's problems, but dig a little deeper, and you find the one providing the answers is Satan himself. These practices are all well outside those who follow God, or so one would think.

Remember how I said they appear harmless on the surface? Unfortunately, this makes these practices hard to recognize without looking through the lens of the Bible, and when we do that, well, you better be prepared.

What if I told you that witchcraft and the religion of Satan, the mystery religion, had crept into the Church of God, and few were able even to recognize it? Witchcraft, also known as “new age” religion, is more prevalent today than ever before. It promotes the worship of self and nature over the worship of God, and the Bible strictly forbids it. All witchcraft and worship of false gods is a roundabout way of worshiping Satan. Satan is the being who is worshiped behind all false gods, or one of his demons. Indeed, some witchcraft is more overt in its ties to Satan than other forms, black magic, for example, but all of it, no matter the form it takes, is devil worship.

Why would Satan worship be so popular these days? People have an inbuilt need for a spiritual life, and they are searching for answers to this deep yearning for connection. The world is in chaos, and people desperately need something stable and secure, something bigger than themselves. All the better if this stability and security offers a sort of answer to the meaning of life and gives them a greater purpose.

1 Timothy 4:1 NKJV Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

It’s natural for people to seek these things out! It offers the power to control their own life and gives them the hope of something more. It gives them something to order their lives by. As God said, He has put eternity into our hearts. We were created to want eternal life and to seek out a higher power than ourselves. The world can’t simply ignore this design, so they seek out a higher power or just power, whether in devil worship, worship of money, worship of self, or worship of nature. Those who try to ignore this design fall entirely into depression and anxiety (though all those who worship some created thing do sooner or later).

Is there any good kind of magic? To learn more, check out this post!

2 Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

These people have a form of godliness, but it is not true worship of the Father. These appear so much to be like the truth that they can be hard to distinguish, and so, they have crept, slinking into the very heart of God’s body of the believers. People are always desperately seeking enlightenment. They are ravenous for anything to explain their life, yet they never achieve true enlightenment because the place they are seeking it from is false. They never get to the truth because the truth lies only with God.

2 Timothy 3:6-7 NKJV For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

They can never reach true enlightenment because they look in the wrong place! They long for the truth, to know what is coming down the line, but they end up as clueless as when they started, no closer to knowing the truth. Being opposed to the real truth is an aspect of witchcraft, and as it says in the next verse, this trait belongs to wizards, specifically, the wizards that withstood Moses in Egypt.

2 Timothy 3:8-9 NKJV Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;

9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

The path they are on resists the truth of God. They cannot follow the path of witchcraft and have a relationship with God at the same time. They have to choose, and often, once they start down that path, there is no coming back. A few have, but it’s rare. These things were so dangerous that God commanded anyone practicing them to be put to death to purge them from among His people.

Leviticus 20:26-27 NKJV 'And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD [am] holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.

27 'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood [shall be] upon them.' "

All these things sound awfully familiar like there’s a modern movement that embraces white witches, nature worship, enlightenment, loving yourself, word spells, and superstitions. There is, actually. It’s the “new age” movement we mentioned earlier, and it is nothing more than witchcraft in disguise, Satan worships at its core; Babylon mystery religion reborn. This movement is nothing new, though, and as we can see, it goes clearly back to the time of Paul. It goes back a lot further than that, however. It goes clear back to the time of Babylon, or should I say, Babel.

Babel began a post-flood religion that has had many branches and variations, but they all have one thing in common: at their core, they are worship of Satan. We see this pagan religion rear its ugly head many times in the Bible, and it even destroyed Israel and Judah. Today, in its purest form, it is Eastern religion and Eastern philosophy—one of the most dangerous traps ever laid for a Christian.

Why is it so dangerous?

Well, many of its philosophies seem to be straight out of the Bible! At first glance, it looks so good, harmless, and holy that many Christians have adopted these false beliefs without even realizing it. They practice them daily without a second thought. These beliefs and practices take the form of superstition about different actions, or perhaps that the words you use might bring death upon yourself simply by speaking about death. It is easy to take scripture out of context to validate all of these false beliefs, but they truly have a different source than God and the Bible.

Have you ever been in a conversation where someone asked you what your star sign is?

Astrology is one of the biggest ones that seems very popular among Christians. Looking to the stars for signs about the choices you should make or the personality traits you should possess depending on which star sign marks your birth is prevalent among modern Christians.

Deuteronomy 4:19 NKJV "And [take heed], lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and [when] you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the LORD your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.

“But I’m not worshiping the stars; I’m just looking to them to tell me what to do or who I should be!” I see. In that case, it’s alright.

Just kidding.

It’s Eastern religion once again to its very core.

People, even Christians run around dismayed at the signs of heaven, worried what they might signify about the end of days. Every comet, eclipse, or combination thereof signals disaster and the end of days for them. God did not give us a spirit of fear to run around like frightened spiritual children dismayed at every odd heavenly phenomenon!

We are the future Sons of the Almighty God, and we have nothing to fear! The heavens are used to mark the passing of time and eventually at the end of days the sun and moon will be darkened. All of the other things are meaningless and there is nothing for us to be afraid of or worried about.

Jeremiah 10:2 NKJV Thus says the LORD: "Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.

Isaiah 47:13-14 NKJV You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, [And] the monthly prognosticators Stand up and save you From what shall come upon you.

14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame; [It shall] not [be] a coal to be warmed by, [Nor] a fire to sit before!

Daniel 2:27-28 NKJV Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, "The secret which the king has demanded, the wise [men], the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.

28 "But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

Daniel nails it on the head here in the last section. These practices have nothing to do with God, and rather than looking to the created things in heaven for answers, man should look to the God in heaven who actually has them. He contrasts those who came before who looked to the created things of heaven with the one who lives in the heavens. This is the whole point right here. It sums up the entire Eastern philosophy in two verses very neatly. Instead of worshiping the creation and looking to the creation for the answers, look to the creator.

Ordering your life according to the signs in the heavens or the time of year you were born is nothing less than Eastern mysticism. They have nothing to do with God or His way. Even dabbling in it for fun is too much. You cannot take fire to your bosom without being burned.

Using signs of heaven, earth, rocks, personality tests, etc, to foretell the future, make decisions, or pick relationships is wrong. It’s witchcraft at its core. An interesting one I mentioned there is personality tests. These can be helpful tools to learn more about yourself and show you where you need to make changes in your own life, but the second you use them to make decisions or excuses for how you are, they become tools of witchcraft. These are all mediums of fortune-telling, which is strictly forbidden in the Bible because it is the path of witches and contrary to everything that is of God. We do not need these signs and this fortune telling because we are children of God, and He is the one who gives us our answers and shows us what is coming.

Closely related to being able to see the future or predict the future is changing reality to suit yourself. The belief that we can change our own reality simply through belief is Eastern mysticism to the hilt. Some think that we make or choose our own reality, but the truth is there is only one reality, and it is what is going on right now. The only choice we have is how we allow it to affect us. We can choose how we respond to the reality around us. We do not each have our own reality; we each have our own fantasy. Living in a fantasy is reserved for servants of Satan and the mentally ill, who usually become his servants. It changes how we interact with reality, but the reality we live through is the same exact reality everyone else lives through, it is simply our perception of it that is different.

The idea that we can change our reality goes back to the idea of magic spells or potions that can alter reality. Chief among these is the crowd that uses Jesus’s name as little better than a magic spell or ascribes magical properties to scripture. Jesus’s name is no magic spell, and scripture has no power in itself. Seven Jewish men found this out to their hurt when they faced down a demon-possessed man and lost (Acts 19). Doing things in His name means that we are using the authority that comes with being in His family according to His will and purpose, not our own.

This flows right into superstitions, omens, and good luck charms without missing a beat. These things seem harmless on the surface, but they are nothing more than giving regard to Satan’s false religion. Inanimate objects have no power for good or evil. They are lifeless, just as Paul spoke of the pagan idols.

1 Corinthians 8:4 NKJV Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol [is] nothing in the world, and that [there is] no other God but one.

This is well backed up in Revelation and Psalms.

Revelation 9:20 NKJV But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

Psalms 135:15-18 NKJV The idols of the nations [are] silver and gold, The work of men's hands. 16 They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see;

17 They have ears, but they do not hear; Nor is there [any] breath in their mouths.

18 Those who make them are like them; [So is] everyone who trusts in them.

We have nothing to fear from these empty idols. There is nothing to them. Demons do not possess them, and they certainly can’t hurt us. You don’t have to worry about your thrift store purchases having curses or evil spirits attached to them, and you certainly don’t need a good luck charm to protect you. Objects you pray over will not protect you or provide you with good luck. God is the one who protects and He does not need you to have the right object blessed by the right person to do so!!!

Using these charms is idol worship and Eastern superstition. Objects with scripture written on them will not bring you good luck or protection. You cannot ensure the success of your business by writing scripture on the floor, and you cannot save yourself by wearing a cross. God is our protector, and He does not need us to carry good luck charms in order for Him to be able to save us.

Just as there are no good luck charms or cursed items that can change our reality, our words cannot alter reality either. A common magic ritual that many Christians partake in is manifesting. They believe that if you think about something often enough and pray to God with enough belief, you will get everything you want and ask for. God has to give it to you because you manifested it! Well, if that sounds like a lie straight from Satan, that is exactly what it is. If God gave us everything we asked for simply because we asked for it enough times with just the right amount of belief, or we repeated it to ourselves in the mirror the magic number of times with the right smolder in our eye, we would be miserable. We don’t know what is best for ourselves, but God does.

James 1:14 NKJV But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

God gives us what is best for us, and sometimes, He even gives us exactly what we asked for so we can learn a lesson. We can certainly ask Him for things, but we do it in His will trusting that He will only provide what is best for us.

Just as we cannot pray something into existence, neither can we inadvertently cause something to happen by speaking something into existence. We cannot cause ourselves to be hit by a bus, fall off a cliff, a flood, or an earthquake just by speaking about it, or “speaking it into existence.” Life and death are in the power of the tongue but not the power you might think. We can build someone up or tear them down with our words. We can build ourselves up or tear ourselves down by what we say, but we cannot cause things to happen simply by speaking them. That belief falls right in line with magic spells and superstition the latter of which is fueled by that nasty little evil spirit Fear.

Do I even need to address “loving yourself?” I would hope that the obvious lie of this statement is apparent without a long explanation. We are told to love many people in the Bible, God, our neighbor, our family, and our brothers in the Faith. Nowhere are we told to love ourselves.

2 Timothy 3:2 NKJV For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

“Just love yourself!” social media influencers proclaim, and they certainly follow their own advice, lovingly doting on themselves and snapping tender photos in the mirror. Pretty goofy.

Instead, how about you love your neighbor and you love God?

Loving yourself is setting yourself up as an idol. I don't mean you should loathe yourself, but there is certainly nothing to love about yourself. Everything loveable about you comes from God and the work He is doing in your heart.

Your heart is not something to listen to unless Jesus lives there, yet a favorite mantra of the “new age” spiritual gurus is to listen to your heart and find a spiritual guide on a higher plane through meditation and attain a higher plane of knowledge. They advise welcoming new energy into your life and achieving altered states of mind through meditation (emptying your mind) or trances. Clarification is in order because David meditated, but when he meditated he thought about God's word, and he did not empty his mind. Anything can be a trance or altered state of mind, but the ones I am referring to are the ones achieved through emptying your mind. These actions are so dangerous that I cannot begin to overstate how dangerous they are because the next step is finding a spiritual guide or welcoming new energy into your life.

Matthew 12:44-45 NKJV — “Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. “Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

The pure evil that these actions invite into your mind makes empty mind meditation the most dangerous activity you can partake in. Many other practices go along with this type of meditation such as yoga, but I am not going to address them all. Suffice it to say that they are all forms of Satan worship.

“New age” religion in all its forms, however harmless or biblical it looks, is the worship of Satan.

The final item to discuss is something that saddens me to even bring up because its evil should be apparent without someone like me having to stand up and point it out. Demonic games are prevalent in the world around us, and many Christians have indulged in them. Games where you collect demons as with Pokemon, or games where you role play as demonic creatures such as with dungeons and dragons. There is not much to say about them other than, shame on Christians for partaking in what is blatantly of Satan.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 NKJV — “When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. “There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, “or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. “For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. “You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. “For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you.

While Satan does not possess inanimate objects, he or one of his demons is the spirit behind the false gods being worshiped. These false religions that Satan has created often seem harmless and even beneficial on the surface, but at their core, they lead to destruction and must be off-limits for anyone who truly seeks to worship God. The spiritual realm is real and extremely dangerous; it is also far more active than many care to admit. The war rages all around us on a daily basis and we must stand up and make our fight as good soldiers of Jesus. We cannot do this if we are partaking in the practices of the enemy.
